postheadericon Conscious Box ~ February 2013

I got February’s Box last week because of a shipping error. I’m going to skip unboxing it, though I will share it was fabulous as always!

Here is March’s Box that I got yesterday….

The theme for March’s box was spring energy and invigoration.  It was a little lacking compared to previous boxes, but I’ve been so pleased with the ones I’ve gotten since beginning the service that I could forgive this one for being a little less exciting.  That’s not to say it still wasn’t good, though…

It would take a very long time to clean all of Spring; there’s an awful lot of it outside. ~ Winnie the Pooh

Here is what was inside:

Chef Sleeve Disposable iPhone Sleeves (10-count, $10) – I have been eyeing these at Target. So glad I get to try them out!
Nektar Honey Crystals (2 sample packs) – I love these!!
Stash Tea Chocolate Orange (2 tea bags)
Vanilla Chaga TGRT Raw (1 tea bag)
Smarty Pants Gummy Vitamins for Grown-Ups (1 day supply)
Smarty Pants Gummy Vitamins for Kids
Two Degrees Food Bars (2 full-sized bars) – Each of these contain quinoa and chia, which happen to be two of my favorite food additions right now.
Agro Labs Wheatgrass Boost (1 serving bottle)
OldeMan Granola (sample pack)
Zarbee’s All-Natural Cough Syrup Extra Strength (sample pack)
Motherlove Diaper Rash & Thrush Cream (sample pouch)

I paid for this box and all opinions are 100% mine. There are also affiliate links in this post. ~D

postheadericon The Fancy ~ P!nk Edition

I subscribed to a box curated by P!nk from The Fancy. I used a discount code for $25 off 1 box. This is an expensive subscription, normally $39 plus S&H. I was beyond excited for this box and it took forever to get here! Close to a month from the order date.

The box arrived with P!nk Fancy printed on the outside, so I thought, this should be cool. Upon opening, basically all the products were just thrown into an oversized box with a single piece of tissue paper was thrown on top. I am guessing since there was nothing real breakable in it, there was no need to pack it carefully, but still.  It was a hot mess!

Still wanting to believe this box would be amazing I continued on….

There were note cards that were printed with the item description and a photo of it. Nothing from Pink explaining why she chose the product or anything. I have a real hard time buying the idea she had anything to do with this box, actually.

Casino Bottle Opener from Kikkerland:
The one I received was an ace of spades, in stainless steel. It’s pretty heavyweight, we will get minimal use out of it. We’ve been known to partake of a beer now and again, but it isn’t anything we would ever pick out as something we “fancy”.

Atlas of Remote Islands Book:

American Apparel T-Shirt:

Navy blue printed with white “Beautiful things happen when you distance yourself from the negative shit.”  The shirt is super soft, but super small. It’s a medium. I wear a 2XL. 🙁

Body Art Paint Sticks 6 Pack:
These are like crayons, and have a clickable push up for more of the paint – made of paraffin, glycerin, petrolatum (bad) and some other chemicals. I might keep them for Halloween?

In addition, there was a coupon for $20 off CanvasPop that I probably won’t use, but you never know.

After opening the box and going through the contents, I canceled. Immediately. This was by far the worst box I have ever received, and I do not plan on getting another one from Fancy. You would think with P!nk there would have been some really fun things in the box..as a spokeswoman for Cover Girl, we could have gotten some cosmetics, her own music free downloads would have cool, or even a funky piece of jewelry or clothing.  This was lame and not what I would have expected.          BOOOOOOOOO TO FANCYBOX!

postheadericon Pawalla Cat Edition ~ March 2013

Taken from the cover card:

If there is one spot of sun spilling onto the floor, a cat will find it and soak it up.

~Joan Asper McIntosh

The first Pawalla box I got for my kitties was such a success (and not just the box) I decided to keep my subscription. The moment I set the box down Lucien hopped on it to investigate.

This month Lucien, Pandora, Elvira, Mac & Mimi got the following…

Canine Caviar ~ Green Venison Tripe. Ummm canine caviar?? I read the card and it claims it’s a unique, single protein food made for BOTH dogs and cats. I can’t wait to see if it’s snubbed or devoured.

Sojos Catnip ~ Hand-harvested and dried catnip then put into a tin to ensure potency. It says that overuse reduces effectiveness so use as a treat. WHATEVER! They don’t know Elvira. 🙂

Spot Eco Cat Natural Pillow Toy ~ 100% cotton twill and filled with catnip. Dye free and durably constructed.

Natural Balance ~ Perfect Bites Salmon Formula Treats. These wont last long!!

Bench & Field ~ Holistic Natural Feline Treats.

Pet Greens ~ Crunchy Cat Treats: Seafood Salad with salmon, herring and fish meal. There is also organic apples and carrots. Interesting.. We’ll see how my brood like it.

I’m rationing out this box so it lasts until the next one. With all the whining and pouting I don’t know how long that will last. 🙂 I HIGHLY recommend this subscription service if you have pets. To get yours go to www.Pawalla.com

Pawalla did not endorse this blog. I paid for this box out of my own pocket and all opinions are 100% mine and my cats.

postheadericon Birchbox ~ March 2013

I’m liking this month’s box. The theme is March Madness. Here is what I got.

*Beauty Extra*  Madewell for Birchbox ~ Emery Board. It’s a cute floral pattern. Super Springy. 🙂

Stella Cadente ~ Miss Me Eau de Purfum.  It’s a blend of peony, orange and silkwood blossoms. It’s powdery and fresh. I REALLY like it and shocked that I do. It’s not a scent I’d ordinarily like.

Serge Normant ~ Meta Revive Dry Shampoo.  The A-list stylist created this volume boosting mist to give second-day locks a lift. BONUS The subtle fragrance leaves hair sweetly scented. This does have a nice scent compared to other dry shampoos.

Caudalie ~ Premier Cru The Eye Cream. Uses caffeine and patented grape antioxidants to soften lines and reduce puffy dark circles.

Vasant ~ Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator. An exfoliating cleanser uses professional grade (read:effective) microderm crystals and papaya enzymes to brighten dull skin.

I am so excited about trying everything in this box! If you’d like your own visit. www.birchbox.com

BB did not endorse this post. I bought the box myself and all opinions are 100% my own.

postheadericon Love With Food ~ March 2013

There are lots of interesting snacks and I can’t wait to try them!

Chocolate Covered Wasabi Peas by Chocwasabi: I gave these to Steve, who in turn is going to give to the guys at work. *giggle*

Love With Food - Discover Great Food for a Great Cause

postheadericon IPSY (My Glam) Bag ~ March 2013

March is the month of Great Escapes

“It’s time to get away from the drab cold of winter and pack your things for a nice little break with your March Glam Bag. We’ve chosen awesome beauty and skincare products that will make your trip towards the sunshine, sea, snow, and more a much more memorable affair.”

The bag this month is really cute!  It’s made from a soft nylon material with navy blue stripes and anchors on the outside and plain white inside. Contents are:

Two yaby eyeshadows, They don’t have a shade name, but one is teal and the other is a seashell shade. These are pretty small and I heard they aren’t very pigmented but they’re the perfect size to fit the GlamRX palette.

GlamRX palette – This is about the size of a credit card, perfect for your purse.  One side is a mirror and the other side is magnetic – you put the 2 eyeshadows in this.

Juice Beauty Hydrating Mist

La Fresh travel-lite makeup remover wipes – I love using these wipes when I’m traveling… this is a small packet with 8 wipes.

I love the mist and the wipes, but the rest is meh. I don’t wear a lot of eyeshadow.

~D

IPSY did not endorse me or pay for this bag. All opinions are 100% my own.

postheadericon Conscious Box ~ February 2013

Conscious Box is a monthly eco-friendly lifestyle box that costs $19.95 per month. This company offers 3 different boxes now:  Classic, Vegan and a Gluten Free box! I get the classic box.

Here are this month’s goodies~

Hebron Ready to Drink Probiotic – Product is ready to drink raspberry flavor.

Celtic Sea Salt – This was a very large jar at 8 oz and should last us for many months to come.  Value is $5.49

Kallari Organic Chocolate – It was the 85% Cacao bar.  Value of the bar is $5.99.  I have to save I loved this bar.  It was probably the smoothest Dark chocolate that I have eaten and I have eaten quite a few.

Equal Exchange Fair Trade and Organic Chocolate – These are the smallest candy bars I have ever seen,  I am glad I received 3 of them. They had a surprising good taste for being so little.

Kelapo Coconut Oil –  This was a small sample size with very little value.  Fun to try for cooking.

Country Choice Organics Instant Oatmeal –  I received the cranberry apple flavor.

Pride Green Trash Bag – These bags are biodegradable.

Natural Vitality Natural Calm – This was raspberry-lemon flavor. Great taste and helps you relax for sleep.

Amazing Grass Kidz Superfood Wild Berry

Honest Face & Body Lotion – It is pure and plant-based which is nice to know.

Sahale Snack Mix –  Flavor was cranberries, sesame seeds and honey flavor.

Sun Cups in Dark Chocolate

I paid for this box and after eating the contents by myself, I formed my own opinions on them.
