Total Beauty ~ HSN Edition March 2013
Total Beauty and HSN have teamed up once again to bring you the Total Beauty Collection for HSN box! This box will feature a wide variety of great offerings from HSN plus a discount voucher so you can try the full size items you love!
1. Korres Guava Body Butter – 1.69 oz tube, $6.16 Value (Full Size $29, 7.95 oz)
Korres is a brand out of Greece, famous for their Lip Butters in the cosmetic world. They also have a great line of skincare products in a lot of good scents, and guava is no exception. A nice fruity scented body butter, this is moisturizing and absorbs quickly into the skin.
2. Taya Amazon White Clay Thickening Styling Creme – 1.5 oz bottle, $5.50 Value (Full Size $22, 6 oz)
I’ve never heard of or tried this line and I’m really intrigued by it. White clay for hair? Not something you see every day. Supposedly thickening, adds body, bounce and enriches hair, this is used to texturize the hair for styling.
3. TanTowel PLUS Half Body Self Tan Towelette – 1 towelette, $2.20 Value (Full Size $26.50, 12 towelettes)
I don’t tan, I never have. I’m sure TanTowel makes good products and from the reviews I’ve seen people seem to like it. But for me, this is a “pass” item which I will probably give away.
4. Carol’s Daughter Monoi Repairing Shampoo & Conditioner – 2 0.24 oz packets, $1.07 Value (Full Sizes $18 and $20 each, 8.5 oz)
These left my hair feeling SO soft and I am SUPER happy that I have another set of packets to use. I got four uses out of these packets the first go around (some sort of record maybe?) and my dry, damaged hair loved it. I need a ton of this stuff.
5. Amika Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil Treatment – 0.34 oz, $3.42 Value (Full Size $34, 3.38 oz)
This is a good sized bottle of the popular oil treatment by Amika, which touts shine, anti-frizz and nourishment for hair. Made with Sea Buckthorn Berry (Obliphica) oil, it also contains Jojoba oil, Wheat Germ oil, and Panthenol (Vitamin B5). Unfortunately this is not a pure oil serum like other hair oil treatments on the market as the first and second ingredients are Dimethicone and Cyclopentasiloxane (silicones), but for those who do not mind or do not use sls-free products, it won’t be a bother (you will need a shampoo with sls to remove the silicones fully from the hair to avoid build-up over time).
6. Boscia Luminizing Black Mask – 0.35 oz, $4.25 Value (Full Size $34, 2.8 oz)
This mask is fantastic. It left my skin looking refreshed and a little bit of a glow. My pores shrank and it removed some of the redness from my cheeks. I still haven’t managed to get a full size bottle, but maybe with the voucher I will.
7. PRAI Ageless Throat & Decolletage Creme – 0.5 oz, $6.24 Value (Full Size $49.95, 4 oz)
This PRAI creme claims to promote the appearance of firmness and resilience in the neck and decolletage area. I don’t have issues in either area. It is moisturizing and has a nice feel. The price has increased $10 since last year, but is now a 4 oz size jar (from 1 oz), thus decreasing the value of this item.
8. Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara in Excessive Black – 0.135 oz, $16.56 Value (Full Size $27, 0.22 oz)
This mascara is more of a wet formula with a smaller brush (I prefer a bit of a thicker formula and big giant wands). It is very black and looks great on the lashes, but it is not waterproof so I did have a little bit of bleeding around the corners of my eyes. Overall it’s a great mascara, but not my absolute favorite. The price has increased $1 from last year.
9. intelliWHITE Pro White Professional Toothpaste with Fluoride and Xylitol – 1 oz, $3.73 Value (Full Size $14.95, 4 oz)
This HSN favorite toothpaste is great, and I can see why. Using it for about a week, I saw a good whitening effect- nowhere near what whitestrips or a pro treatment would do, but this is in the upper echelon of whitening toothpastes. The toothpaste is no longer offered solo but in a kit with a whitening booster and lip gloss for a lower price, lowering the value of this item.
10. LORAC Lips With Benefits Lip Gloss in Chuck – 0.05 oz, $4.73 Value (Full Size $18, 0.19 oz)
11. Signature Club A Precious Moroccan Argan Oil Oasis Day Cream SPF 25 – 0.35 oz, $8.31 Value (Full Size $28.50, 1.2 oz)
Signature Club A by Adrienne has been a HSN staple for a long time and this is one of their offerings from the Moroccan Argan Oil line. The cream is recommended for use alone or under makeup and provides SPF 25 protection to prevent premature aging and sun damage. I personally found the cream a bit heavy on my combination skin, but those needing more moisture will find it suitable.
